NATIONAL LOTTERIES COMMISSION / NLC

In September 2020 the National Lotteries Commission in its meeting of the Arts & Culture Agency considered the proposal form Makhweyane Support Services NPC (MSS NPC) for the waste collection project based in Driekoppies, Nkomazi Local Municipality.

The project was subsequently funded to the tune of R 291 200,00 and the purpose of the project was to create job opportunities for local people while dealing with issues of environmental pollution. The grant meant that MSS NPC was going to employ up eight (8) beneficiaries and one (1) administrator for a period of ten (10) month.

Effectively the grant from the National Lotteries Commission enabled MSS NPC to create up nine (9) jobs for a period of ten (10) months.

The project was implemented in collaboration with Nkomazi Local Municipality who provided for Basic Environmentally Training to the beneficiaries to enable them to have a basic understanding of environmental pollution and how to deal with waste.

NATIONAL ARTS COUNCIL / NAC

In 2020 The NAC under the Presidential Employment Stimulus Programme (PESP) made an open call, aimed at soliciting proposals for the renewal and reimagination of the creative industries that demonstrate to create work in order to get the sector moving and income flowing. MSS NPC submitted a proposal in this regard and were awarded a project to the tune of R163 425,00  to create about 15  job opportunities in the Creative and Art Industry.

The project was implemented in Mdzili Senior Secondary School in Schulzendal Nkomazi Local Municipality and entailed the procurement of traditional attire and equipment for Sibhaca Dance Group and training on Traditional Swazi African etiquette.
